1. Introduction
Shifters AI Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website shitfersai.com (the "Service"). Shifters AI Inc. builds autonomous climbing and crawling robots for inspection of power transmission towers, buried pipelines, and underground mine corridors. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Company collects through the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The Company is based at 4620 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 and can be reached at [email protected].
This Policy applies to information collected through the Service and through direct communications with us, including pilot-partnership inquiries submitted via the contact form. It does not govern data collected by onboard robot sensors or inspection data captured during robot deployment operations, which is handled separately under agreements with pilot partners.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you submit a pilot-program application, contact form, or technical inquiry through the Service, we collect:
- Contact details (name, email address, phone number) you enter in the contact form;
- Organization name and your role within that organization;
- Description of your inspection environment (tower corridors, pipeline networks, underground operations) and inquiry type;
- The content of any messages you send to [email protected] or through the Service.
We do not operate a self-serve registration flow. Pilot-partner access to the inspection data portal (app/login.html) is provisioned manually by the Shifters AI engineering team. Portal credentials, if issued, are governed by the terms of your pilot-partner agreement.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit shitfersai.com, we automatically collect limited technical information:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (city or region level);
- Browser type, operating system, and device class;
- Pages visited, referring URLs, and time on page;
- Cookie and similar tracking identifiers (see Section 5).
2.3 We Do Not Knowingly Collect Children's Data
The Service is directed to utility engineers, pipeline operators, and mining operations professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
3. How We Use Information
Shifters AI is a pre-commercial, angel-backed company at the pilot stage. We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to pilot-partnership inquiries, technical questions, and press requests;
- Evaluate whether a prospective partner's infrastructure environment (tower type, pipeline configuration, mine profile) is a fit for a pilot deployment;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Send service-related communications and, where you have opted in, updates on Shifters AI capabilities and pilot program availability;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information for monetary value. Where applicable state law treats certain advertising arrangements as a "sale" or "share," see your state's section below.
4. Sharing of Information
The Company shares personal information only with:
- Service providers acting on our behalf (such as web hosting, transactional email delivery, and anonymized analytics) under contractual confidentiality obligations;
- Legal authorities, when required by applicable law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Company or others;
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information to third parties and do not use contact-form submissions or inquiry details to train machine learning models.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure usage. For details and your choices, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain pilot-inquiry and contact-form data for as long as reasonably needed to evaluate a partnership fit and maintain follow-up correspondence, and for up to 24 months of inactivity after which records are archived or deleted. Server access logs are retained for 90 days, then aggregated. If you are issued inspection-portal credentials under a pilot-partner agreement, retention of associated data is governed by that agreement.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, restricted-access systems, and least-privilege access controls for the engineering team. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats.
8. Your General Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access to, correction of, and deletion of personal information the Company holds about you, and the ability to limit certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Pennsylvania Residents
Pennsylvania does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute. As a matter of policy, the Company extends the following baseline rights to all U.S. residents regardless of state of residence.
9.1 Baseline Rights
- Right to Know: request the categories of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: request deletion of personal information you have provided.
- Right to Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt Out of Marketing: unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in each message.
9.2 How to Exercise
Email [email protected] with a description of your request and enough detail for us to verify your identity. We respond within 45 days.
9.3 Sector-Specific Rights
If you are protected by federal sector laws (such as HIPAA, GLBA, or FERPA), those laws may give you additional rights with respect to data covered by them. Inspection telemetry and imagery captured during robot deployment are handled under the terms of the applicable pilot-partner agreement and are not governed by this web privacy policy.
9.4 California Visitors
If you are a California resident visiting from another state, you may also exercise the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
